Accessible Public Administration
The public–civil society meetings (Civil Society Working Group), which we launched in the previous period to strengthen cooperation with public institutions, will continue in the new phase. Through these meetings, we aim to provide a platform for networking, capacity development, and discussion of current developments related to public–CSO collaboration.
In the second phase of the project, we will continue to monitor civil society’s participation in decision-making processes. We will observe the participation mechanisms of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM), ministries, public institutions, and local administrations, and share developments affecting civic space with civil society organizations. We will also map existing participation mechanisms and share updated information.
To strengthen civic participation at the local level, we will prepare a Local Participation Mechanisms Report that maps existing mechanisms, highlights good practices, and provides recommendations for enhancing participation.
Additionally, in cooperation with the Legislative Association (YASADER), we will work to ensure more active participation of CSOs in legislative processes. During the new period, we will collect CSO feedback on draft laws, compile it into reports, and share these with members of parliament and relevant committees. Moreover, we will carry out shadow monitoring and independent consultation processes for ministerial regulations, strategic plans, and other key policy documents. To further encourage CSO engagement in decision-making mechanisms, we will also organize consultation processes with local governments and public institutions.
